• Today, Għasri marks the feast of Christ the Saviour. A pontifical concelebrated Mass, led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, will take place at 8.30 a.m. The Lauda Sion choir will take part. Horse races will be held in Għasri Street at 3 p.m. The procession with the statue of Christ the Saviour, accompanied by the La Stella band, will start at 8 p.m. An evening of music will take place at Saviour Square at 10.15 p.m.

• 'Leone Goes Pop', an open-air concert by the Leone Band, will be held at Independence Square, Victoria, today at 9 p.m. Entrance is free.

• A car boot sale by the Friends of the Sick and Elderly will be held at the Marsalforn car park today between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. The charge per car is €10, payable on the day.

• A craft workshop, Zig Zag Lines - Art in Metal, by artist Jackie Roberts, will be held at 1 Għammar Street, Għasri (through Għasri village on the road to Ta' Pinu), today between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wall art, souvenirs, gifts and jewellery will be on display.

• The Bethel Charismatic Group will be organising a prayer meeting at the church of Our Lady of Pompeii, Victoria, on Saturday at 7 p.m.

• The Gozo Branch of the Alliance Francaise de Malte will be holding a summer course for students entering Form 1 and Form 2. For more information e-mail afgozo@gmail.com or call 7928 0563.

• Moveo Dance Company instructor Dorian Mallia, in collaboration with the Gozo Sports Complex, will be organising dancing courses at the Gozo Sports Complex, Victoria, from July 5 to September 10. Lessons will be held on Monday and Friday. Application forms are available from the reception desk of the sports complex.

• The Victoria Scout Group is holding a wine and food evening at Fort Chambray on June 19 at 8 p.m. Tickets at €15 for adults and €5 for children can be obtained from the Scouts' headquarters in Victoria or by calling 2155 6497 or 7939 8928 until June 17.

• 'Midsummer Dreams', an evening of fine dining, music and dancing will be held at Villa Fiorita, Marsalforn, on June 25. The evening is being organised by the Dorthese Ellis Foundation to commemorate its10th anniversary. Tickets sell at €45 each. Free transport can be arranged from Mġarr harbour.
