• The Gozo Amateur Athletic Association in collaboration with the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, Xagħra council and the Gozo Ministry will today be holding the 34th edition of the Gozo Half Marathon. The marathon starts from Xagħra at 9.45 a.m. The eight-mile race also starts from Xagħra at 9.45 a.m. A two-kilometre and a four-kilometre race for young athletes will be held at 8.45 a.m. There will also be a fun run for all newcomers.

• The 47th diocese congress of the Holy Name Society will come to an end today with a concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech and Bishop Nikol Cauchi at Għarb parish church at 8.30 a.m. At 5 p.m. a cortege with the statue of the Good Shepherd will start from Church Street and will proceed to the parish church accompanied by the Victoria Scout Group and the Visitation Band. The parish choir Hebron will take part.

• Where the Wild Things Are will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6 p.m. Avatar will be screened on Saturday at 8 p.m.

• A Lace Day will be held at the University campus in Xewkija today between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. A commemorative book will be launched. A souvenir will be given to all participants. Entrance is free.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo will be holding a car boot sale at Marsalforn car park today between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. A €10 fee will be charged per car space.

• The Gozo College Qala Primary School will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on Tuesday with a thanksgiving Mass by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech in the school hall at 10 a.m., followed by a day of celebration activities to which all past teachers and students are invited. Those who would like to attend can call 2155 3660.

• Applications for a learning support assistant (LSA) teacher at Bishop's Conservatory Primary School, Victoria, can be obtained from the school and returned by Thursday noon.

• The Nadur youth council in collaboration with the Nadur council will be holding a May fair at St Peter and St Paul Square between Friday and Sunday. Various entertainers, including special guests Glen and Pamela and Annette's Mystic Dancers, will take part. A cooking demonstration will be given by Carmen Tedesco on Saturday at 5 p.m. On Sunday there will be a military and classical car show, a demonstration by the Traffic Police, games for children and food stalls. An exhibition of mosaics by Mary Portelli will be inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said at the Nadur council on Saturday at 7 p.m.
