• Fontana marks the feast of St Andrew the Apostle today with concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at 3.45 p.m. A procession with the statue of the saint, led by Mgr Salv Tabone, with the participation of the La Stella Band, starts at 4.45 p.m.

• The Gozo Padre Pio Prayer Groups are today holding an Advent retreat at Our Lady of Graces Sanctuary in Victoria. National director Fr Alfred Scerri, OFM.Cap, will celebrate Mass at 9 a.m. After a short coffee break, Fr George Bezzina will deliver a talk on St Pio of Pietrelcina. Dinner will be held at the friary's refectory.

• An international Christmas celebration is being held at St Joseph parish church, Qala, on December 13 between 6.30 and 8 p.m. The University of Malta Junior College Orchestra, The Chorus Urbanus, Gozo Handbell Ringers, The Magnificent Choir and soprano Ruth Portelli will take part.

• The Nadur Christmas Market will be held between Friday and and Sunday at St Peter and St Paul square. There will be live entertainment.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions in Gozo (including couples) for First Friday Mass at St Augustine church, Victoria, on Friday, at 8.30 p.m.

• Shirley Wilberforce is exhibiting watercolour and acrylic paintings at St Ursula Hall, Victoria, from today until next Sunday. Works include wildlife, figures and abstracts. The exhibition is open daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On weekends it opens from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

• An art exhibition by Maxine Attard is being held at the Joe Tabone Hall at the Nadur council offices. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Saturday between 8 and 11.30 a.m. The exhibition will remain open until December 18.

• The Friends of The Sick and Elderly in Gozo are organising a car boot sale at Marsalforn car park today from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

• 'Paolo Messaggero di Cristo', a painting exhibition by Sergio Favotto, is being held at St John Hall, Victoria, today from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

• Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will celebrate Mass for people with disabilities and their families at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary on Sunday at 11.15 a.m. The event will be part of a programme of activities by Arka Foundation to mark International Day For Persons with Disability. After Mass there will be a reception hosted by David's Bakery at Ta' Pinu Resaurant.

• 'Santa Claus is coming to the festive Ark' is the theme of this year's Christmas gift shopping to be held at Ta' Dun Arkanġlu, Church Street, Għarb, on December 12 from 2 p.m. The proceeds from the sale will go to Arka Foundation.

• The Ladies' Circle of The Sacred Heart Seminary will be organising a coffee morning in the hall of the Catholic Action Movement centre on Thursday at 9 a.m. Tickets at €3 can be obtained from the members or from the school.

• The St Joseph Band Club of Għajnsielem will be organising a gala dinner at the Grand Hotel, Mġarr, on December 18 at 7.30 p.m. DJ Joe Cassar will entertain. Tickets, at €19.50 (including wine and soft drinks), are available from St Joseph Band Club's bar or committee members.
