• The Tale of Despereaux will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m.

• The feast of Jesus of Nazareth is being celebrated in Xagħra today. Adoration will take place from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech, at 5 p.m. The Maranatha Choir will take part. The Victory Band of Xagħra will accompany the procession. An evening of entertainment, featuring The Cash and Band Group, and other singers and dancers, will be held after the religious functions. There will also be a wine-tasting competition, a wine and pizza party and spot prizes.

• A concert of sacred music will be held by a Russian choir at Sacred Heart church, Nadur, today at 10.15 a.m. Entrance is free.

• The Paderborn Cathedral Choir and the Laudate Pueri Choir will take part in today's 11 a.m. Mass at St George's Basilica, Victoria. The Paderborn choir will also give a sacred choral concert at St George's Basilica, today at 8 p.m.

• The art exhibition Mostly Abstract by Joerg Boettcher, at the Gozo Ministry's exhibition hall, Victoria, will be open between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday and between 9 a.m. and noon on Saturday. It will remain open until October 29.

• Eku mill-Munxar, Dari u Llum, held at Munxar, comes to an end today with an exhibition of animals from 7 a.m., a display of vintage vehicles between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. and a festive Mass of St Paul with the participation of Maltese and Gozitan singers at 10 a.m. The public is invited to visit the flour mill in Xlendi between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

• Festubru at Lunzjata Valley ends today. Activities include the traditional playing of Brilli at 10 a.m., a display of Falcons at 2 p.m., Mass at Lunzjata chapel at 5.30 p.m., a concert by a Russian choir at 6 p.m. and folk music at 6.30 p.m. Traditional food, wine and crafts will also feature throughout the day.

• Twentieth century paintings of Gozo, Malta, Venice and Italy are on display at the Banca Giuratale, Victoria. Organised by Art 4 You, the exhibition will be open from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday between 7.30 a.m. and noon and Sunday between 9 a.m. and noon. It will remain open until Sunday.

• The art exhibition Masks and Mirrors, Illusion and Reflection, held at St Ursula Hall, Victoria, is open between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday and between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It closes on October 28.

• The Committee for National and Regional Celebrations within the Gozo Ministry has published the regulations and applications for participation in the Gozo Regional Carnival 2010 competitions. For more information one can call at the culture office, Banca Giuratale, Independence Square, Victoria. Application forms must be returned on November 20 between 9 and 11 a.m.

• The Gozo CCU Monitors Foundation's Winter Interlude will be held at the Grand Hotel, Mġarr, on November 14 at 6.30 p.m. Soprano Ruth Sammut Casingena, the Journey Choir and several dancers will take part. The Wallace Pipes and Drums will provide entertainment during dinner. Tickets cost €30 each. For bookings call Carmen on 2156 6496/7956 6496.
