• The Day The Earth Stood Still will be shown at Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6 p.m.

• The 46th Congress of the Holy Name Society will be held at Sannat parish church today. A concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will be said at 8.30 a.m. A cortege with the statue of The Good Shepherd will leave from Sannat Road at 5 p.m. The Victoria Scout Group and the St Margaret Band will take part. A variety programme follows at St Margaret Square.

• The Gaulitana: A Festival of Music will continue on Tuesday with the presentation of the Animae Gospel Choir at Our Lady of Visitation Basilica, Għarb, at 8 p.m. Entrance is free.

• A vocal recital with the participation of soprano Emma Darling will be held at the Exhibition Hall, St Francis Square, Victoria, on Friday at 8 p.m. Entrance is free.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly are organising a car boot sale at Marsalforn car park today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a charge of €10 per car space.

• The Circolo Gozitano is holding a discussion on the impact of climate change on small islands at its premises, 7 Sir Adrian Dingli Street, Victoria, today at 10 a.m. The panel will include Luxembourg MEP Claude Thurmes and MEP hopefuls Edward Scicluna, Arnold Cassola and Alan Deidun. The public is invited.

• The Alliance Francaise of Gozo will be launching its Ciné Club evening with Le Huitième Jour (The Eighth Day) at the Gozo University Centre tomorrow at 6 p.m. The film is in French with English subtitles. Entrance is free.

• A weekend event entitled Mayfair will be held at Nadur square between Friday and Sunday. It will include a book fair, story-telling, face-painting and other games for children.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions in Gozo (including couples) for First Friday Mass at St Augustine church, Victoria, on Friday at 8.30 p.m.
There will be confession from 8.15 p.m.

• The Gozo CCU Foundation is organising a quiz night at Il-Ġirna, Uncle Ted's Tavern in Sannat (near Ta' Ċenċ Hotel on Tuesday at 7.30 p.m. A finger buffet and raffle will also be held during the evening. Tickets are at €5 per person. Teams of up to four people are permitted. Money raised during the evening will go towards the purchase of electric cardiac and ITU beds for the Gozo CCU Ward. • A festival of flowers and plants, entertainment, traditional food and drinks and fireworks will take place in Żebbuġ today.
