• Today, Għasri, the smallest village in Gozo, celebrates the feast of the Patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. From 6 a.m. till 1 p.m. there will be Mass every hour. At 4.30 p.m., Gozo Bishop Mario Grech leads a Pontifical High Mass at 4.30 p.m. The Santa Marija Band of Żebbuġ will play marches from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m.

• Fr Anton Teuma will celebrate Mass for couples who have marked their 25th and 50th wedding anniversary, or who were married this year at the Jesus of Nazareth church, Xagħra, tomorrow at 7 p.m. A reception will follow.

• Mgr Eucharist Sultana will lead Mass for the sick and the elderly at the Jesus of Nazareth church, Xagħra on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by a get-together in the parish centre. At 7 p.m., there will be activities for all the family and Mass led by Fr Giovanni Cefai, MSSP, a Gozitan missionary in Peru. The Santa Klara choir will participate.

• Marriage preparation courses run by the Cana Movement will be held on Fridays at 7.30 p.m., on Saturdays at 7.30 p.m. and on Sundays at 8.45 a.m., as from Friday. • National Treasure 2 - Book Of Secrets will be shown at the Don Bosco Oratory in Victoria today at 5.30 p.m.

• NGOs are invited to a seminar at the NGO centre on Saturday at 9.30 a.m. where information gathered during visits to Greece and Italy as part of an EUPA-funded Leonardo Da Vinci project will be given. Officers from the national agency will give an overview of the support they offer for participation in this type of programme.

• Rotary Club Gozo will be hosting a gala dinner at the Citadel Centre for Culture and the Arts, St Ursula Hall, Victoria, on October 21 at 7 p.m. It is the 250th anniversary of Nelson's victory, known as Trafalgar Day. The evening will open with a week-long exhibition of marine paintings by Thomas J. Burnell, an international marine artist. Proceeds from the dinner and sale of paintings will go to The Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo, Wirt Għawdex, OASI and Happy Moments Kenya.

• A wide-ranging University for the Third Age (U3E) course is being organised in Gozo. Applications for this course together with the €11.65 registration fee will be collected on Friday at the Day Care Centre in Għajnsielem.

• On the occasion of Council Day the Nadur council is receiving nominations for Gieħ in-Nadur. For applicati ons, regulations and further information contact the council. Applications close on Wednesday.
