• The Ladies' Circle of The Sacred Heart Minor Seminary will be organising its monthly coffee morning on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the main hall of the seminary. Tickets at €3 each can be obtained from the members and from the school.

• The Department for Projects and Development within the Gozo Ministry said that its agriculture branch will be selling fruit trees including peaches, cherries, plums, prunes, pomegranates and figs as well as vines and olive trees. Applications to purchase the trees can be obtained from the Agriculture Office, St Francis Square, Victoria, from October 6 to 17 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Identity cards should be presented with every application. A 25 per cent deposit is required for every order placed. Applicants will be advised by mail prior to distribution of trees, which is expected to take place in January or earlier.

• Mil-Fliegu is the title of a new 45-minute programme about Gozo. The first edition will be aired on Thursday on RTK at 12.15 a.m. The programme will include a commentary from Ta' Pinu shrine, an interview with rector Fr Gerry Buhagar, a feature on Gozo during World War II by Charles Bezzina, information about the origin of some localities by Pio Borg and 35 years of popular music by the The Tramps including an interview by one of the group members Spiro Sillato. The programme is produced and presented by Vince T. Scerri.

• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly is organising the first of its winter car boot sales at the Marsalforn car park today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement is inviting graduates and members of all professions in Gozo (including couples) for First Friday Mass at St Augustine church, Victoria at 8.30 p.m. Confessions will be heard from 8.15 p.m.
