• Sixteen teams from Malta and Gozo will be competing in the first Futsal Tournament in Gozo, being held at the Gozo Sports Complex over the weekend. This five-a-side tournament will kick off at 5 p.m. on Friday and end on Sunday at around 3 p.m. On Sunday there will be an extravaganza of sport, including nursery children and female footballers playing exhibition matches as well as fun games like penalty shootout and crossbar challenge.

• The Don Bosco Oratory will be presenting its annual summer club children's concert on Wednesday at the Don Bosco Oratory Theatre at 7.30 p.m. followed by a barbecue at St Augustine's Square. Highlights from the concert will be presented during a children's show in Marsalforn on Friday at 9 p.m.

• The Victory Band of Xagħra will commemorate the 110th anniversary with a musical soiree at the main village square on September 4 at 9.30 p.m. The Victory band choir 'Nativitas' will also take part.

• The Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts is offering 55 courses for the next scholastic year starting October 1. Those who wish to attend should fill in forms available from the centre or from any local council in Gozo. They are to be submitted by September 1.

• The Gozo CCU Foundation is holding a summer sizzler event in the Square at Sta Luċija on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. The evening consists of a barbecue, music and entertainment. Tickets cost €20. Proceeds will go towards the purchase of heart monitors for the Cardiac Care Unit in Gozo. For tickets and further information call Carmen on 7956 6496 or Peter on 9901 8015.

• The feast of the Assumption of Our Lady is being celebrated in Żebbuġ today. At 9 a.m. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will concelebrate Pontifical Mass with the parish clergy followed by band marches at 11.30 a.m. At 6.30 p.m. Fr Karm Cini will lead solemn vespers followed by a procession with the statue at 7.15 p.m.

• Activities marking the feast of Our Lady of Loreto on Sunday will be held throughout the week. Today there will be an open day at the St Joseph Band Club which will include several activities and exhibitions. Radju Luaretana will broadcast live from the club. The St Joseph Band will perform a musical programme in the main square under the auspices of President Eddie Fenech Adami on Tuesday at 9 p.m.

• The Delicata Classic Wine Festival will be held at Nadur Panoramic Gardens in Fatima Street today from 7 p.m. Entrance is free; however, those wishing to sample wines on offer need to purchase an official festival glass, which they can keep. The festival includes live entertainment.
