• Qala parish church celebrates the feast of St Joseph today with a pontifical concelebrated Mass led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at 9 a.m. The Pinto Band will play marches at 11 a.m. The procession with the statue leaves the church at 7.30 p.m. The Mnarja Band will give a concert on the main square. A fireworks display will be held at the end of the procession. On Friday, Qala marks the 37th anniversary of the coronation of the titular painting of St Joseph with a concelebrated Mass led by Mgr Arthur Said Pullicino at 7 p.m.

• Opera vs Pop Under the Stars, a concert by the Gozo Youth Orchestral is being held at the Gozo Ministry's courtyard in Victoria tomorrow at 8.15 p.m. The concert is being complemented by an art exhibition by Gozitan Artist Paul A. Stellini. Entrance is free.

• The Victoria Scout Group is organising a barbecue and campfire at the camp-site in Dwejra on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are available from the scouts headquarters tel. 7939 8928, the camp-site, Bookworm Stationery, Republic Street, Victoria, and from Office Club, Dr Anton Tabone Street, Victoria. • The Friends of the Sick and the Elderly in Gozo will be holding its third annual fundraising activity at Ramla on August 16 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be an all-day beach party including music, fun fair games, three raffles and a contest with free give-aways.

• The Gozo Sports Complex has issued applications for the services of a supervisor and instructors for Skolasport 2008/2009. Application forms may be collected from the Gozo Sports Complex at Triq l-Ewropa, Victoria. They have to be submitted by Friday.

• Xagħra parish is holding a pilgrimage to mark the 125th anniversary of the Virgin Lady's call to Karmni Grima on Wednesday at 5 p.m., starting at the junction between Għarb and Ta' Pinu road. Mass will be celebrated at Ta' Pinu Sanctuary. The function will be broadcast on Radju Maria.

• The Malta Aquarist Society (Gozo section) will hold its annual fish show at Ninu Cremona Lyceum Hall in Victoria between August 15 and 17 between 8.30 a.m. and 8.30 p.m. Entrance is free. The members of the Malta Aquarist Society meet every second Sunday of the month at the NGO hall in Xewkija at 9 a.m. For further information visit the club's website www.maltaaquarist.com

• The Gozo Cardiac Care Unit Foundation is organising a summer sizzler to raise funds for the purchase of another heart monitor on Santa Luċija Square on August 30 at 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost €20 for the barbecue, including half a bottle of wine and entertainment. • The St Lawrence Festival in San Lawrenz comes to an end on Thursday with a folklore evening. Għana singers and Ta' Ċangura San Lawrenz Folk Group will take part. The Golden Palm award will be presented.

• A barbecue is being held at the Xaghra Playing Field by Xagħra United FC on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are available from the club.

• An art exhibition by Art Club 2000 of Mellieħa is on at the Exhibition Hall, St Francis Square, Victoria, until August 28. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

• The OASI Foundation, in collaboration with Go, will be presenting its annual open-air festival Riflessi Sajfin at il-Menqa in Marsalforn on Saturday between 7.30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Deborah C, YADA Dance Company, Annalise Dance Studio and Angelic Voices will take part. The festival will be presented by J Anvil and Alison Ellul.
