• Today Nadur will continue with its annual Christmas Market on St Peter and St Paul Square. Food and entertainment will be available. At 6 p.m. there will be a choir concert at Sacred Heart church. The Group Cash and Band will close the event.

• Today at 10 a.m. a meeting on citrus trees will be held at Joe Tabone Hall, Nadur council building. It will be addressed by Marica Gatt, director Plant Health, Anthony Muscat from the Surveillance and Inspectorate Unit and David Attard from the Diagnosis Unit.

• 'Working for Charity' is an art and sculpture exhibition organised by Rotary Gozo at the Sentinella Hall, Cittadella, Victoria, from today until Sunday. Opening hours: daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

• The parish priest of Għajnsielem, Fr Frankie Bajada, will lead a gathering for married couples with the theme 'Let us be friends of the Word of God' at the parish centre of Għajnsielem on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

• On Thursday, December 13, Gozo celebrates the 33rd anniversary of the Republic of Malta. A commemorative ceremony with the participation of the Police Band will be held on Independence Square, Victoria, at 6 p.m. 'A Night with the Sopranos' will be held at 6.45 p.m. at the Ministry for Gozo Halls. Taking part in this classical concert, which will be presided over by the President and Mrs Fenech Adami, are Gozitan sopranos Rosabelle Pavia, Georgina Gauci, Claudia Tabone and Marouska Attard. Entrance is strictly by invitation from the Gozo Culture Office, Independence Square, Victoria.

• Meet The Robinsons will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 5.30 p.m. Miss Potter will be screened at the same oratory on Saturday at 8 p.m.

• On Thursday the Gozo Cultural Council, in collaboration with Arkadia Shopping Complex of Victoria, will be organising a Carols Marathon by Gozitan children's choirs. This activity will be held at the entrance to the complex between 10.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

• For the first time Għajnsielem will be celebrating the liturgical feast of Our Lady of Loreto with a procession with the statue of the Black Madonna at 5 p.m. The St Joseph Band Club will accompany the statue from the parish church through Perellos Street and around the main square. A bonfire will then be lit up in the square as the Ghajnselmizi will gather around it singing joyful songs accompanied by the St Joseph Band.

On Monday Holy Rosary will be broadcast direct from Loreto Basilica, in Italy at 3.15 p.m. Bishop Mario Grech will be a special guest at Radju Lauretana. A concelebrated Mass, led by Archpriest Franky Bajada, will start at 6 p.m. Fr Martin Mamo will deliver the homily. A Eucharistic celebration will follow. The activities will also be broadcast on Radju Maria.

• The Schola Cantorum Jubilate will present the 5th edition of 'Carols by Candlelight' at St Augustine's Monastery, Victoria on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. A dinner prepared by Ta' Frenċ Restaurant will be served after the concert. • Today the Imperial Gozo Yacht Club is organising an exhibition featuring models of the traditional Dgħajsa tal-Pass and tal-Latini. It will be held at the office of the Yacht Club. A show of Gozo's traditional sailing craft will also be held, if the weather permits, at Mġarr Harbour. It will include the frejgatina, frejgatina bil-kurtuni, kajjik, firilla and dgħajsa tal-pass/latini. Both events will be held between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m.

• An experience of a journey into the musical, literary and gastronomic traditions of Gozitan Christmas, organised by the Gozo Cultural Council, will be held at the Cittadella Centre for Culture and Crafts, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Free tickets are obtainable from the Gozo Cultural Office on 2155 6125.

• The annual presentation of donations by Gozitan schoolchildren to the Community Chest Fund will be held at the Ghasri parish church on Friday at 9 a.m. Following a concelebrated Mass by Bishop Mario Grech, heads of schools will present the donations collected by their respective students to President Eddie Fenech Adami.

• Following a Christmas band concert by the Leone Philharmonic Band, under the direction of Mro Colin Attard, Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono will inaugurate a life-size crib at the Foyer of the Banca Giuratale on Friday at 6.30 p.m. This artistic crib is the work of young Gozitan sculptor Adonai Camilleri Cauchi. Band marches along Republic Street will be held.

• The liturgical feast of Sta Luċija will be celebrated at Sta Luċija church, Sta Luċija on Thursday. Mass will be celebrated every hour between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Solemn Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m.

At 7.15 p.m. traditional activities, organised by Ta' Klula Folkloristic Foundation and the Circolo Gozitano, will include the Sta Luċija bonfire with the participation of girls wearing the Sta Luċija habit and band marches. On Saturday, at 5.15 p.m., there will be the translation of the relic followed by High Mass celebrated by Mgr Giovanni B. Gauci.

At 7.30 p.m. there will be band marches along Sta Luċija Street and Sta Luċija Main Square.

• A book fair is being organised today at the Exhibition Hall in St. Francis Square, Victoria, from 9 a.m. till noon.

• A meeting will be held for all Gozitan youths at the University chapel, Msida, on Tuesday at 7.15 p.m.

• An Advent Catechesis is being held for Gozitan youths at the Good Shepherd Pastoral Centre in Victoria on Saturday at 8 p.m. Fr Fabio Attard SDB will be the main speaker.

• A competition for the best crib is being organised for Għajnsielem residents. Applications may be obtained from the parish office.

• The new parish priest of the Cathedral parish, Mgr Joseph Attard, will this morning formally take over the duties of the parish in a ceremony presided over by Gozo Bishop, Mgr Mario Grech. A Solemn Mass will be held at 10 a.m.
