The collective agreement for clerical staff employed by G4S Security Services (Malta) Ltd deployed at Mater Dei Hospital has been signed.

Under the agreement, staff will benefit from improved working conditions and an increase in salaries. The agreement was signed by the Professional, Finance and Services section of the General Workers Union and the company's management.

The agreement was concluded after a series of meetings and after G4S obtained further contracts for the emplyment of clerical staff and increased its operatons.

The agreement also provides for an increase in the bonus paid to workers and improvements in health and safety conditions. It also provides for training.

Both parties said the agreement was an indication of the company's willingness to improve employees' working conditions and of the union's willingness to work with the private sector while remaining committed to safeguarding workers' interests.
