The coach driver was trapped in his vehicle following the collision with a truck that was being driven by a 46-year-old man from Mtarfa at about 2.30pm.
Four schoolchildren from Forms I and II of Naxxar Secondary, all resident in the Rabat area, suffered slight injuries from broken glass.
The coach driver was helped out of his vehicle by rescuers from the Civil Protection Department.
An inquiry is being held.
