Simonetta Bellidisca, a top-level International Equestrian Federation (FEI) coach, will be returning to Malta next month to conduct another specialised course in dressage and show jumping.

Bellidisca first became ac-quainted with the local equestrian scene last May when she held a one-week intensive dressage course to riders who were aspiring to compete in the FEI’s World Dressage Challenge.

This was the first time in Malta’s equestrian history that dressage riders took part in an international event.

Excellent results were achieved thanks to Bellidisca and her colleagues’ expert guidance.

“My first encounter with the Maltese equestrian community was certainly positive – they displayed great potential and a willingness to improve,” Bellidisca said in a statement.

“I am looking forward to playing a part in developing the talent that is available on the islands and to consolidate my collaboration with riders in Malta.”

Bellidisca is based in Italy and has been involved in equestrian sports for over 30 years.

She has enjoyed major success within national and international level show jumping and dressage competitions. Following her achievements in the competition arena, Bellidisca became a registered instructor and national-level judge within the disciplines of show jumping, eventing and dressage.

The specialised course will be held between February 9 and 12.

The course will culminate in a ‘grand finale’ with a dressage competition on February 13, starting at 10 a.m.

All events will be held at the Tal-Magħtab Equestrian Centre.
