Year 5 students at Nadur primary school took part in a Clean Up The World activity organised by the local council.

On January 10, the students, accompanied by their teachers J. Farrugia and M. Saliba, set out to a locality in Nadur called il-Wied ta' Xhajma which is situated on the road leading to Nadur from Victoria.

Wearing T-shirts, the students were armed with gloves and plastic bags. The rubbish and junk they had to handle, some of which was impossible to remove, included cookers and mattresses. The refuse was later collected by the council.

The students were then given a follow-up lesson about better use of clean-up sites and the use of the bulky refuse service.
