I refer to the letter by Leo Brincat on the works in Sliema Road (February 16). As soon as works were seen, he drew up a marketing letter to gain brownie points, as if all this work was done through his good offices.

Sliema Road badly needed attention, thus my constant attention in the interests of the residents. The road, and Kappara in its entirety, has probably generated more articles on its needs than any other place. My contributions to other newspapers are a proof of this. My own innumerable parliamentary questions on Sliema Road, the latest being some eight days ago, also bear witness to this.

However, Mr Brincat omitted my contributions on this subject, typical of the opportunist mode the new Labour Party is in. It does not bode well for this new generation of Labour, as people see through these ploys.

I would like to thank all the residents who alerted me to Mr Brincat's letter and prompted me to write.
