Valletta found little difficulty in booking their place in the semi-finals of the U*Bet FA Trophy after a comfortable 3-0 win over Rabat Ajax.

It was a clear show of force from the Citizens who despite resting a number of regular players they still proved too strong for their struggling opponents.

Valletta took the lead on 28 minutes when Aboubakar Bello-Osagie delivered a teasing cross that was not cleared Dylan Falzon with Ryan Fenech hitting a fierce drive that was deviated past Azzopardi by Joseph Ogunuppe.

Rabat’s response failed to arrive and Valeltta doubled their lead five minutes into the second half. Aboubakar Bello-Osagie moved past two defenders and then did well to exchange the ball with Gabriel before firing a fierce low drive past Azzopardi.

Valletta wrapped up the win 16 minutes from time when they were awarded a central free-kick and William Barbosa’s curling drive flew past the diving Azzopardi.
