The Tunisian Grand Prix weekend started on a positive note for Maltese pilot Aaron Ciantar and throttleman Angelo Tedeschi after they steered their Conam Yachts boat to victory in the SuperSport endurance race held in Hammamet yesterday.

Giving his reactions and comments to his fans on his company's new portal www.chaudronpowerboats.com, Ciantar said: "We had a very difficult start as we were chasing Voom Voom and Saho who moved ahead.

"We continued to push hard and managed to go in second place.

"After the fifth lap, I was confident that our Chaudron No.46 Conam Yachts powerboat could catch Saho as we were racing reasonably fast."

Ciantar and Tedeschi seized the chance when Saho encountered mechanical problems around the seventh lap and were forced to pull out of the race.

Saho's retirement caused huge disappointment for pilot Maurizo Di Stasio and throttleman Federico Terenziani after they dominated the Friday powerpole session, and comfortably led the early stages of the SuperSport endurance race.

Last month, Conam Yachts obtained back-to-back victories in the Malta Grand Prix of the Sea to consolidate their position at the top of the SuperSport standings. The Tunisian GP concludes today with a sprint race.
