The Church will be celebrating the Vigil of Pentecost today at Gharghur.

Activities which will be held in front of the parish church will be led by Archbishop Paul Cremona and will be focused on the priesthood, since the Pope has designated 2010 as the Year of Priests.

Today’s event will be the Archbishop’s first since his return from a pastoral visit among Maltese emigrants in Canada and the United States.

The programme starts at 7.30 a.m. with a feature on the significance of the day. Mass will be celebrated at 8 p.m.

During Pentecost the Church celebrates the enlightenment of the Apostles by the Holy Spirit, leading to the birth of the Church.
