For the fifth year running the Naxxar Local Council will be organising the event Christmas in Naxxar.
This time round it will take a different form and will be spread on three whole days from Friday 13th till Sunday 15th December.
This event is being organised in full collaboration with the Naxxar Business Community and the financial assistance of the Parliamentary Secretariat for Culture and Local Councils as well as the Ministry for Tourism.
Following discussions with the Naxxar business committee it was agreed that the roads will not be closed since normally such closures tend to create more inconvenience and hinder, rather than increase business.
This Friday visitors will be able to enjoy the trackless train, Peprina, by Melita Trains which will offer a free hop-on hop-off service so that the public could also park next to the trade fair grounds and take the train from there to reach all central and business areas. In all there will be five stops. On Saturday and Sunday there will be organised tours around the locality, however for these there will be a small charge.
Other attractions include a special kids area at the playing field featuring innovative games/activities, Disney mascots, Santa Claus, balloon modellers, face painters and also live music.
On Friday and Sunday young singers will entertain the crowd whilst through out the three days there will be free historical walking tours leaving from next to Local Council.
Santa will also distribute presents to the public made up of vouchers provided by the Naxxar businesses. There will also be fire shows and juggling.
A number of shops will organise a fashion show on Friday whilst all shops will open throughout the whole day till late. Along the whole activity route a number of stalls sill be set up selling Christmas related products as well as traditional food!
Basically there will be something for everyone during all times. Nowadays Naxxar provides anything that one may require and therefore one could make all his/her Christmas shopping from Naxxar. All this in a relaxed and beautiful Christmas atmosphere!
