Do you usually work during the festive period?

This is the first time I’ll be working during the festive season. I’m generally given the liberty to choose when I take my holidays. I could very well have chosen not to work this holiday season, but this year, I chose to take more holidays during the rest of this year instead.

What sort of work will you be doing?

I’ll be carrying out my usual daily tasks and making sure the product I am responsible for is on track.

Do you miss celebrating the festive season with your loved ones?

I’ll still make time to celebrate the special days with loved ones. The company I work for gives the weekends and feasts off, and since Christmas this year is on a Sunday, I won’t be missing out. I still haven’t made any specific plans, but I’ll probably be going to lunches, celebrating at parties and spending good times with my girlfriend and loved ones.

Has working in the festive season affected your relationships outside work in some way?

Not really. If that were the case, I would have made it a point to not work.

Will the organisation you work for do something to keep you in the Christmas spirit?

Yes, we’ll be having a Christmas party and I’m sure we’ll be doing something at the office to celebrate as well.

How do you feel about working this festive season?

As it’s my first time working during the holiday season, we’ll just have to see how it goes. If it doesn’t work out in a good way, I will make sure next year I take the festive period off.
