The celebration to mark the feast of Christ the King will be moving indoors for the first time in many years.

The Curia said this afternoon that the celebration will be held this Sunday at Sta Venera parish church, starting at 4 p.m. The theme will be "Sharing the joy of our faith".

The activity will including singing, a feature presented by the MSSP group Miskan, and an address by Archbishop Paul Cremona.

The feast of Christ the King used to be a major event in the Maltese calendar, drawing thousands in a pilgrimage which used to file past the Christ the King monument in Floriana and proceeding to St John Square, where the Archbishop delivered his address.

As in recent years, the celebration on Sunday will be preceded by a meeting for adolescents at the Inspire Centre in Marsascala on Friday at 6.30 p.m.on the theme "What do you feel lacking?".

Archbishop Cremona will be meeting children at St Monica School, Birkirkara, on Saturday at 3.45 p.m. in an activity which will include games, singing and dancing.
