Legendary singer and songwriter Chris de Burgh is in Malta for a solo concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, in Valletta.

He said he was excited to return to Malta and he viewed his concert, hosted by CMC Promotions, as appreciation to his loyal followers.

The concert is sold out.

He said Malta rekindles memories which go back to 1951 when his father, Colonel Charles Davison, was a British diplomat assigned to Malta. He brought his family to Malta, including his small child Christopher John.

They lived in Rabat.

De Burgh has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. His most successful song, The Lady in Red is still one of the most played songs all over the world. De Burgh's other successes include: High on Emotion, Borderline, Missing You and A Spaceman Came Traveling.

Following the Malta concert, De Burgh leaves for Turkey to perform in Istanbul.

In the meantime, CMC Promotions is working on its next concert, this time by the Italian popular singer and Neapolitan singer-songwriter, Gigi D'Alessio, in April.
