Narcotics Anonymous Malta (NA) is inviting interested parties to attend a convention having Choosing Life as its theme.

Narcotics Anonymous Malta will soon mark its sixth anniversary, the NGO said.

The event, being held tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Suncrest Hotel, in Qawra, will give drug users, still battling with addiction, the chance to see and hear recovering addicts talk about coping with staying off drugs. They will also be able to share their stories with professionals working in the field to demonstrate and spread the message on how NA members are recovering and enjoying a better life free of addictive substances.

Entrance is free.

A workshop will be held on Saturday followed by an alcohol-free party in the evening.

Last year's convention got such good response that NA felt the need to keep spreading the word of the good work it is achieving through members' experiences and the value of sharing those experiences, the NGO added.

Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit voluntary organisation. The members are recovering addicts who meet regularly to support each other in staying "clean".

The programme followed entails complete abstinence from all types of narcotics. The only thing required to join is the wish to stop "using".
