A Commonwealth Heads of Government dinner planned for this evening under a tent outside Hagar Qim has been moved to a private venue because of the strong winds forecast.

The dinner to be hosted by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is now expected to be moved to Xara Lodge in Rabat.

A tent had been specifically erected next to the historic temples.

Other events organised for the CHOGM summit were not affected by the weather but the strong winds has been the cause of many changes in the royal visit programme over the past couple of days. Upon arrival, the Queen was scheduled to travel to Valletta and be greeted by dignitaries at St George’s Square in Valletta, but the winds and rain forced the ceremony to a low-key event at San Anton Palace.
