The Vice President of China is to visit Malta later this month as part of a tour which will also take him to South America.

The People's Daily, the Chinese government official newspaper, said Vice President Xi Jinping will visit Mexico, Jamaica, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil and Malta from Feb. 8 to 22.

Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao is currently visiting London.
