Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Wang Chao had talks in Valletta this morning with Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

They discussed current relations between the two countries and ways how they can be strengthened, the government said.

Dr Muscat praised the way how the two countries over the past months reached their milestone agreement on energy. He said there were various ideas, concepts and possibilities which the two sides could discuss and the deputy foreign minister’s visit was therefore welcome.

Mr Wang noted the long years of close relations between the two countries and augured that such relations would continue to improve.
