Juventus reserve goalkeeper Antonio Chimenti broke his hand when he punched a table in anger after conceding an embarrassing goal in Sunday's 1-0 Serie A defeat at Sampdoria.

Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano scored from nearly 40 metres to inflict yet another defeat on sixth-placed Juventus, who are enduring one of their worst seasons in the Italian top flight.

"I came back into the dressing room first and dealt with my anger by punching a small table. Unfortunately I broke my hand," Chimenti told Juve's television channel.

Juve number one Gianluigi Buffon and second-choice keeper Alex Manninger look likely to be fit to return at Napoli on Thursday.
