In the run-up to Christmas, many seem to get lost in a frantic search for gifts and in the pursuit of enjoyment, perhaps putting aside the real meaning of this religious feast.

The latest edition of Child gives parents ideas on how they and their children can celebrate a more religious Christmas rather than a strictly secular one.

There are also tips on how to help children become more grateful and Swiss recipes for some alternative festive treats.

The magazine, however, tackles various other topics. It looks into how STEM subjects are being promoted in primary and secondary schools and how children are getting on at the Malta Visual and Performing Arts School, which opened its doors in September.

There are a number of health-related articles: from nutrition for toddlers to treating teenage acne to footwear tips.

It also goes behind the scenes of ZiguZajg, the international arts festival for children and young adults, currently under way.

Child is out tomorrow with the Times of Malta.
