A 35-year-old man from St Julian’s was granted bail yesterday after having been charged with possession of child pornography.

Charlemagne Caruana was accused of acquiring, producing or disseminating child pornography and of misuse of electronic equipment.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia granted him bail yesterday against a personal guarantee of €5,000. No deposit was requested.

Lawyers Joe Giglio, Yanika Camilleri, Vincent Micallef and Andy Ellul all appeared for Mr Caruana.

Police Inspector Joseph Busuttil prosecuted.
