The Siggiewi council has called on the Environment Commissioner within the Ombudsman's Office to investigate what he termed as shortcomings by the planning authority in its consideration of an application for a large chicken farm and other facilities in the area known as tad-Dikkiena.

Yesterday, the court temporarily stopped the authority from continuing to process the application upholding a request by the council made after the case officer changed his recommendation for the development from one against the development to one in favour.

The council  argued that this was done behind its back.

Dr Aquilina today said that the recommendation was changed again today in spite of the court order to Mepa to stop processing the application.
