Didier Drogba netted twice as Chelsea came from a goal down to draw 2-2 with Atletico Madrid in their Champions League Group D match on Tuesday and seal qualification for the knockout round with two games to spare.

There were few chances for the first hour at the Calderon until John Terry's attempt to head clear looped up to substitute Sergio Aguero just inside the area and he fired a spectacular volley past Petr Cech on 66 minutes.

Drogba, back in European action after a three-match suspension, nodded in Florent Malouda's cross in the 82nd minute and then raced through the defence to give Chelsea the lead six minutes later.

Aguero, who had come on with just over half an hour left, capped a fine performance with a curling free kick in the final minute that was too good for Cech.
