St Theresa College Girls’ Mrieħel will be organising its Charity Fun Run Marathon, sponsored by the school tuck shop, on November 19.

The fun run, in its 21st edition, will serve as a fund-raising event, the proceeds of which will go towards the Malta Community Chest Fund, Caritas Malta, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Inspire, and the St Theresa College Girls’ School Benevolent Fund.

“Through this activity our students learn to be aware of people in need and take action to help them. ‘Niġri biex ngħin’ (I run to help) is our slogan,” said teacher Victor Camilleri, who is organising the event.

Last year, students collected €9,056 and they are hoping to exceed this sum this time around.

The School Tuck Shop Fun Run will start at 12.30 p.m. at the college. Most participating schools form part of St Theresa College. The winners of each school will be given a trophy and every fun run participant will receive a commemorative medal, fresh fruit and water.

Other schools are invited to participate both in the Fun Run and other activities including exhibitions, dance, art, music and a gymnastics display. There will also be talks by the Malta Community Chest fund, Caritas, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Inspire to create an awareness of the work carried out on a voluntary basis in the community.

On November 14, there will be a Tombola, sports for children and a motor show at as part of the charity marathon. On November 19, a charity concert will be held. All these activities will be held on school premises.

One may deposit donations directly at any HSBC branch. The Fun Run account number is 016-079493-001.
