A man was yesterday charged with threatening to kill his partner in Birkirkara on Tuesday night.

The man, whose name is not being published to protect the victim's identity, pleaded not guilty to threatening to kill the woman, using violence to scare her, harassing her, damaging her property, assaulting her and breaching the peace.

He was also charged with being drunk in public, with breaching the conditions of a previous court judgment and relapsing.

The man, who appeared before Magistrate Edwina Grima, was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia prosecuted while Dr Robert Abela appeared for the accused.
