A 37-year-old man accused of harassing his wife was yesterday released on bail after pleading not guilty.

Jesmond Magri denied threatening to use violence against her, insulting and threatening her during an argument on Monday at around 4 p.m.

During yesterday's arraignment, lawyer Toni Abela asked for bail adding that his client will be living in another house until the proceedings have finished.

Taking into consideration that he will not be living in the matrimonial home, Magistrate Audrey Demicoli granted Mr Magri bail against a deposit of €500.

Police Inspector Edmond Cuschieri prosecuted.
