Two men from San Ġwann were yesterday charged with stealing cash from a petrol station in Gozo on four separate occasions over a two-month span.

Carmel Hartley, 39, and Matthew Portelli, 24, pleaded not guilty to stealing over €2,000 from the petrol pump in Victoria on the nights of August 13 and 29 and October 6 and 17.

They were also charged with damaging the pump each time they stole from it.

Magistrate Edwina Grima granted both men bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000 each.
