On cloud nine after sealing their 30th waterpolo title with two matches to spare, Sliema McDonald's will be looking to extend their magnificent winning record to 12 consecutive matches this evening when they take on Sirens Centro Casalinga.

Sliema secured the league crown in emphatic style last weekend, demolishing San Ġiljan Tropicana Juices 15-7. Judging by their dominant form, the Blues should not find it too difficult to dismiss the challenge of an erstwhile disappointing Sirens team whose 12-9 defeat to second-placed Neptunes Vodafone was their fourth this season.

Otto Frick and John Soler were the catalysts of Sliema's victory last Friday as the Hungarian struck seven goals and the Maltese powerhouse weighed in with four.

Although the title issue has already been decided, the Division One teams cannot afford to become complacent, given that the Knock-Out competition gets underway in a few weeks' time.

The second Division One match this weekend is the Balluta derby between Neptunes and San Ġiljan. Still reeling from their failure to retain the title for the third year in succession, Neptunes will be trying to end their league campaign by winning their last two matches.

A win tomorrow would give Neptunes' flagging morale a timely boost ahead of their final encounter with bitter rivals Sliema, a match the Reds will surely be motivated to win and spoil the Blues' title party.

In Division Two, champions Exiles Elle-et-Vire are widely tipped to close out their league commitments with a win at the expense of Ta' Xbiex Mermaid's Paradise today.

Today: Division Two 5.30 p.m. Exiles vs Ta' Xbiex. Division One 6.45 p.m. Sirens vs Sliema.

Tomorrow: Division Two 5.15 p.m. Marsaxlokk vs Otters. Division One 6.30 p.m. San Ġiljan vs Neptunes.
