Hibs Go Mobile came back strongly last weekend to score a good victory over semi-final rivals Naxxar Danone and level the series 1-1.

Depiro Still, the champions, are only one step away from the final after their second victory over Luxol Vodafone.

Hibs had two of their best players, Lucienne Bezzina, the captain, and Doreen Parnis, missing through injuries but the return of playmaker Dawn Aquilina infused fresh enthusiasm in their ranks. Their victory was never in doubt.

Hibs opened strongly and took an 18-5 lead. Steve Buttigieg, the Naxxar coach, tried all options to encourage his players to a comeback but Hibs never lost control and went in for the break leading 34-18.

Naxxar increased their tempo after the interval and came to within five points of Hibs - 35-30. However, Achille Pace's girls' reaction was formidable, to say the least, as they shaded the remaining minutes of the match to win 59-38.

Depiro struggled against Luxol for the first part of the game but after imposing their superiority there was no question where the victory was going.

Luxol took an early lead but Depiro came back to lead 36-25 at half-time. As the third session got underway, Luxol were still within striking distance of Depiro as the latter held a slim 38-36.

But there was no story after that as the champions regained composure to stroll home to a comfortable 80-52 win.
