A chambermaid in a hotel in Qawra was today accused of stealing various items from a total of 220 hotel rooms between July 4 and 21.

Teresa Cuschieri, 41 of St Paul's Bay, was arraigned in court this morning after police investigations in the wake of a report by a Spanish guest at San Pawl Hotel that her laptop, a hair straightener, make-up set and some clothes had been stolen.

Ms Cuschieri was accused of stealing items, including cash, from a total of 220 rooms. She was also accused of handling stolen property and being a relapser.

She was granted bail against a personal guarantee €2,000.

HOTEL STATEMENT

The General Manager of San Pawl Hotel in a statement said the person involved was never employed at the San Pawl Hotel and none of the clients ever reported missing items.
