The Chamber of Advocates expressed concern at the government’s proposal to bind senior police officers with a definite three-year contract that could be renewed in line with performance.

It said that although these type of contracts had become very popular for people in managerial positions, this method of employment should not be used for certain positions such as in the case of policemen, who should not be get incentives to please the Executive in the carrying out of their duties.
