Deloitte Malta welcomed the finalists who engaged in the firm’s first edition of Leaders of Tomorrow challenge during an insightful evening addressing the theme of gender balance in the workplace.

With 50 per cent of its workforce being women, Deloitte Malta continues to achieve a sustainable and balanced workplace environment while contributing to increased female participation. Despite this, research has shown that 40 per cent of worldwide businesses have no women in senior management and that only 30 per cent of all businesses worldwide are owned and operated by women.

To address this, Deloitte Malta recently launched the Leaders of Tomorrow challenge, where students were invited to create proposals and present their ideas on how a professional services firm like Deloitte can be appealing to young women, how the right working environment can help young women build their career, and how to help women to progress in leadership roles.

The selected finalists attended an event at the Deloitte offices in Mrieħel, with the winners chosen by an internal panel of judges made up of Mariella Galea, Learning and Development and Performance Manager of Farsons Group; Ramona Galea, International Business Etiquette and Protocol Consultant and Cross-Cultural Specialist and Caroline Cassar Reynaud,  Deloitte Malta Talent Leader.

The winning participants were presented with monetary prizes and an opportunity to work with Deloitte in the summer through the company’s summer programme.

Ms Cassar Reynaud said: “We recognise that to remain an employer of choice we must listen and connect to the future workforce of tomorrow. The proposals made today give us the opportunity to reflect on the ideas and establish how these can help us address gender diversity within our firm.  We are impressed with the work and thought process put in by each student who has participated in this challenge.

“The ideas and suggestions that have come forward as a result of this initiative will help us continue to drive our all in strategy and to ensure that we continue to foster a working environment that allows our people to be the very best version of themselves”.
