A delegation from CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) has visited ST Microelectronics with a view to possible future collaboration, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi was told this afternoon.

The delegation, which is in Malta to discuss collaboration with Malta, notably with the Malta Council for Science and Technology, had a meeting with Dr Gonzi at the Auberge de Castille.

Leading the CERN delegation is scientist Professor John Ellis and researcher Emmanuel Tsesmelis. Malta and CERN signed five year memorandum of understanding in Geneva in January 2008.
