A 38-year-old man from St Paul’s Bay and a 28-year-old Scotsman residing in Malta were arrested on Friday night after they were caught dealing drugs.

The police said the operation followed a number of days of surveillance with drug squad police pouncing when they observed the Maltese man handing over a package, allegedly containing drugs, to the Scotsman.

A subsequent search of the Maltese man’s car yielded a number of packets of cocaine, cannabis leaves and LSD.

The police said the man has been held and is shortly expected to be charged with drug possession and trafficking.
