The second module of the Catholic social teaching course being jointly organised by the Centre for Faith and Justice, and the Pastoral Formation Institute, will start on January 20. People can attend the module even if they have not taken Module 1. Sessions are held on Wednesdays at the Catholic Institute, Floriana, from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m.

Applications may be sent by post with a €25 cheque to the Pastoral Formation Institute, Catholic Institute, Floriana FRN 1441, or those interested may inform Fr Edgar Busuttil by e-mail at edgar.busuttil@gmail.com and bring the application on January 20.

Topics to be covered include 'The centrality of the human person: A society founded on truth, freedom, justice, and solidarity', and 'Subsidiarity, common good, participation' by Josephine Vassallo; 'The Church and the State', and 'Foundation, purpose of the political community'; 'The political community at the service of civil society' by Fr Mark Sultana; 'Political authority. The role of government. The democratic system' by Jean Paul De Lucca; and 'Social sin' by Fr Edgar Busuttil.
