The court case against former Enemalta chairman Tancred Tabone, which had to continue being heard this morning, has been postponed as the accused is in hospital.

Mr Tabone is charged with corruption and money laundering in connection with oil procurement. His lawyer, Giannella de Marco, presented the court with Mr Tabone’s referral note to hospital at 7.30pm yesterday.

The court had today been due to hear main witness George Farrugia, who was granted a presidential pardon for information about the case. Mr Farrugia was seen outside the court hall this morning with his lawyer Franco Debono.
