A 52-year-old man from Plymouth, UK, is facing life in prison after he admitted in court today to killing Maltese national Michael Brincat, 76, at his home in Devonport, The Plymouth Herald reported.

Mr Brincat, who was asphyxiated, was found dead on February 5. He served in the Merchant Navy and was awarded a medal for service during the Suez crisis in the 1950s. He was known as Maltese Mike.

Caretaker Brian Short, 52, today pleaded guilty at Plymouth Crown Court to killing Mr Brincat.
