Nicky Carabott finished the 2017 Olympic Trap shooting season on a high, as he won his fourth competition in a row adding another trophy to his memorabilia.

The Attard Bros Trap Handicap Competition was organized for the very first time ever by the Malta Shooting Sport Federation (MSSF) and it was held at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges.

A good number of the Federation’s members turned up to compete in this maiden event.

They all shot at three rounds of twenty five clay targets each, where their original scores were adjusted and converted to net scores after a handicap was added.

This provided the chance to shooters with lower scoring average, therefore with higher handicap, to qualify amongst the highest ranked participants of last Sunday’s event.

The top six shooters were:

1st Nicky Carabott 68/75 + 5 (Handicap) = 73 Points

2nd Frank Scorfna 66/75 + 5 (Handicap) = 71 points

3rd Gianluca Chetcuti 62/75 + 8 (Handicap) = 70 points

4th Eugenio Borg 62/75 + 7 (Handicap) = 69 points

5th Justin Borg 59/75 + 9 (Handicap) = 68 points + 1 shoot-off

6th George Cassar 59/75 + 9 (Handicap) = 68 points + 0 shoot-off

The MSSF Shotgun Programme will continue this Friday, at the Bidnija Ranges, the Southern Shooting Club and the Qormi Clay Shooting Club, with the Mira Ghall-Istrina in All Events.

All funds collected during these Events will be donated to The Malta Community Chest Fund towards L-Istrina 2017.
