Qormi's Brazilian striker Camilo yesterday flew to Germany to undergo minor groin surgery at a Munich clinic.

Camilo, the Premier League's leading scorer with 17 goals, has been carrying the injury for several weeks but the Brazilian delayed the operation to help Qormi's cause to secure a berth in the Championship Pool.

The timing of the operation could not have been better as Camilo, who is expected to be out for a week, can't face Ħamrun Spartans next Monday after he collected his fourth yellow card in Qormi's 2-0 defeat to Tarxien Rainbows on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Hibs have yet to decide whether to retain Miguel Lopes de Pina. The Portuguese striker had a quiet debut for Hibs in last Saturday's 4-2 defeat to Valletta but coach Mark Miller wants more time to properly assess Lopes de Pina's qualities.

The Paolites had to release Latvian forward Olegs Malasenoks to register Lopes de Pina ahead of Saturday's match. A Brazilian striker started a trial with Hibs yesterday as Miller is expected to wait until the final day of the transfer window before making a final decision on his foreign players.
