The 2008 Tetley Scrabble League was concluded last week with Theresa Camilleri winning the national title convincingly for the third year running.

She dominated proceedings in the First Division, winning 39 games out of 44.

Cecil Muscat finished second in the standings with 33 wins. Former champion David Delicata was third with 31 wins.

The Second Division proved to be very keenly contested with Albert Zammit and Paul Frendo both registering 26 wins out of 42 games. However, Zammit was declared the winner with a better spread than Frendo. Alfred Xuereb was third with 22 wins.

Dominic Borg won the Third Division with 19 wins out of 30 games. He was followed by Lilian Spiteri in second place with 17 wins and Yvonne Delia third with 16.

A total of 26 players took part in three divisions.

One-day tournament

The Malta Scrabble Club will be organising a one-day tournament on June 7 at the Bayside Restaurant, Buġibba.
