Two calls for proposals under the European Refugee Fund 2011 and the European Integration Fund 2011 annual programmes have been launched by the Funds and Programmes Division within the Office of the Prime Minister.

The European Refugee Fund aims to support and encourage the efforts made by member states in receiving and bearing the consequences of receiving refugees and displaced persons. The European Integration Fund aims to support efforts by member states made in enabling third-country nationals of different economic, social, cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds to fulfil the conditions of residence and to facilitate their integration into society.

Under the European Refugee Fund €716,188.74 have been allocated to finance actions related to reception conditions and integration. Another € 456,180 have been allocated under the European Integration Fund to finance actions related to putting into practice the

Common Basic Principles for immigrant integration policy established within the EU, building capacities within policy, coordination and building intercultural knowledge on various levels and the exchange of experience, verified procedures and information in the field of integration among member states.

Actions under the European Refugee Fund and Integration Fund have a co-financing rate of 75 per cent EU and 25 per cent Malta funds.

Project proposals will be accepted by the Funds and Programmes Division until January 30.
