Three works by Gozitan artist Joseph Calleja were recently added to the Art Gallery of Hamilton, which is Ontario’s third largest. Calleja immigrated to Canada in 1958, where he taught art in Hamilton between 1960 and 1968, before settling in Toronto, Ontario.

His first work to be exhibited at the gallery was in 1992, a major kinetic work entitled ‘Spring Revelry’. This summer another three works were added, namely (from left), ‘Landscape, Autumn Colours, Canada’ (1965), the limestone sculpture ‘Mind and Spirit’ (1984) and the kinetic ‘The Wave’ (1976).
